Bridget Walsh (she/her/hers) is a violinist from Guelph who took her very first lessons in the GYMC building when she was 4 years old! Bridget has performed internationally in multiple genres, including classical, country, jazz and neo-soul/funk. Aside from graduating with a degree in neuroscience while being a professional touring musician, Bridget has her ARCT (RCM) and experience teaching students of all ages and levels.
She has studied with internationally renowned Vadim Gluzman, Kerson Leong, Edwin Huizinga, Olivier Charlier, Tarn Travers, Jessica Linnebach, and more. Some notable classical music programs that Bridget has trained at include the National Arts Centre Young Artist Program, Domaine Forget International Music Festival, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Institute, Sweetwater Music Festival and the International Music Festival of the Adriatic. For notable music festivals, she has performed at Toronto Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival, Mariposa Folk Festival, Guelph’s Hillside Festival, Otis Mountain Music Festival and more!
As a teacher, Bridget’s main goal is to create a safe and enthusiastic space to learn for students of all levels. She feels that the most important thing is to complement music repertoire with technique and music theory. She’s open to teaching any genre and can help prepare students for competitions, exams or help them work towards a “dream” piece!
