Andrew Schoettler is a drummer, bandleader, and educator based in Guelph, Ontario. His playing is rooted in jazz and funk, with experience spanning rock, pop, R&B, and other styles. Andrew performs regularly throughout Southern Ontario and leads a variety of jazz ensembles, including his own trio.

Andrew graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Mathematics and a minor in Music. He has performed in a wide range of settings, from small jazz ensembles and jam sessions to concert bands, pit bands, and larger musical groups.

Andrew is also actively involved in Guelph’s music community. He is the founder and host of the Silence Jazz Jam, a recurring event that brings local musicians together to play, collaborate, and develop their skills. He has also performed at venues and festivals throughout Southern Ontario, including the Guelph Jazz Festival.

As a teacher, Andrew focuses on developing strong fundamentals while helping students become confident, musical, and independent drummers. Lessons can be tailored to each student’s experience and interests, whether they are picking up the drums for the first time, learning to play along with their favourite music, or developing their skills as a performing musician.
